Peisey-Vallandry is one of the villages in the Les Arcs ski area. Les Arcs and La Plagne together combine to make one of the largest ski areas in Europe with at total of 425 kilometres of piste. The Peisey lift station located at 1650 metres in Plan-Peisey, or from the Vallandry lift in Vallandry. From the lower village of Peisey, locals and visitors can use the famous ‘Lobster Pots’ (or Lonzagne lift) for free transportation to the lift.
Plan-Peisey is connected to La Plagne via the Vanoise Express, a cable car that spans the divide between the Peisey-Vallandry/Les Arcs ski area and La Plagne. The 180 person cable car, which was built in 2003, stretches 1.8 kilometres and is elevated 380 metres above the valley floor.
